The plug is a bulky transformer plug at the very end of the cord which i am not crazy about because it takes up too much room on a surge strip but it works fine. Both ends of the light have extendable abs leg supports that expand to fit wider tanks. The fluval ultra bright led strip light has three rows of 7k led daylight bulbs to produce similar light intensity if a twin tube strip light but uses less energy. So far the fluval light seems very well constructed.

There are also some fun gimmicky options that you can play around with including fading lunar lightning cloud cover and stormy weather. This is very bright compared to my old light.
